To use your MEC Pro license on a new domain (or when moving your website to a new address), you first need to free the activation used by the old site. There are two ways to do this \u2014 use Method 1 whenever the old website is still accessible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/span>Method 1 \u2014 Revoke From Inside MEC (Recommended, Instant)<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you still have access to the old website’s WordPress admin:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Log in to the old<\/strong> website.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Go to MEC > Dashboard<\/strong> \u2014 the License Activation box shows your active license.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Click Revoke License<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. The activation is freed immediately \u2014 no waiting, no other steps. (If our server could not be reached at that moment, MEC tells you so and support can release the activation manually.)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Then, on your new<\/strong> website, go to MEC > Dashboard<\/strong>, enter your purchase code, and activate as described in the Activation<\/a> article.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Revoking on the old site stops the Pro features there. Your events and bookings are not deleted \u2014 they stay in the database.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    <\/span>Method 2 \u2014 Deactivate From Your my.webnus.net Account (When the Old Site Is Gone)<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    If the old website no longer exists, you cannot log in to it, or you simply prefer the account panel:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Log in to your account at my.webnus.net<\/strong> (the My Account<\/strong> page).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. In your dashboard, find the panel of the product (for example, MEC Plugin<\/em>) and click its Manage Sites<\/strong> button.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. On the Manage License<\/strong> page, find the old website address in the sites table and click Deactivate Site<\/strong> next to it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    4. Go to MEC > Dashboard<\/strong> on your new website and activate with the same purchase code.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      Note:<\/strong> with Method 2 it can take a little time before the URL disappears from the list. If it does not change after a few hours, contact our sales department through the online chat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      <\/span>Frequently Asked Questions<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      <\/span>Do www and non-www count as different sites?<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      No. www.example.com<\/code> and example.com<\/code> are treated as the same website \u2014 one activation covers both.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      <\/span>My site is in a subdirectory. Does it need a separate activation?<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      No. Your license covers your website as a whole, including installs in a subdirectory such as example.com\/blog<\/code>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      <\/span>The old site is completely lost \u2014 no WordPress access at all. What now?<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      Use Method 2 above. If the panel also does not let you deactivate for any reason, contact support with your order number and the lost site’s address, and we will free the activation for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      <\/span>Can I activate on the new site first and revoke on the old one later?<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      Only if your license still has a free activation. Otherwise the new activation will be refused with “Your license key has reached its activation limit” \u2014 free the old activation first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      <\/span>The Manage License page also has an “Add New Site” form. Should I use it?<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      You normally do not need it. Activating MEC on your new site (Method 1, step 4) registers the site for you automatically. The form is only for pre-authorizing a URL manually \u2014 if you use it, the site still counts against your activation limit.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
