How to Integrate AcyMailing with Modern Events Calendar

STEP 1: Install and Configure AcyMailing
To get started, you have to install AcyMailing. Go to your admin area of your WordPress website to download it. You can then click “Add a new plugin” in “Plugins”. If you type AcyMailing in the search bar, you will be able to find, install and activate it.
Once AcyMailing is installed, you will need to configure the send settings. Go to “Configuration”. Then complete the default sender information (Mail settings):
- From name
- From email
- Reply-to (name, address)
- Bounce email address
You must then choose your sending method. Several external SMTP sending services are available: Amazon SES, Mailgun and alternatives to Mailgun, Sendinblue, etc.

If you already have a sending method, you can fill in your API key, port, server, and the various other information according to the method that you choose.
STEP 2: Install the Modern Events Calendar Integration
You can now install the Modern Events Calendar integration. Before you can install the integration, you must already have the Modern Events Calendar plugin installed on your WordPress site.
You can download the integration in two ways:
From the Add-ons
From the AcyMailing left menu, select Add-ons. Search for Modern Events Calendar and click on “Download”.
You will be redirected to the Modern Events Calendar WordPress overview page. Then click on “Download”. Your browser will automatically download the file.
Go back to your website's administrator area and then go to “Plugins”. In “Add new”, click on “Upload a plugin”. You will be able to upload your file in this space.
You can now install and activate it.
From Plugins
You can also download it by searching for AcyMailing in your plugins search bar. All AcyMailing integrations will appear. Scroll down, the integration should be displayed, you can then install and activate it.
STEP 3: Create an Event
First, you need to create an event in Modern Events Calendar. In the menu of the plugin, click on “Add Event”.
This takes you directly to the event editor. You will be able to fill in some information: its title, its description and the details of the event. Add a date, a place, a time, a price, organizers…and the information you wish to add.
Once all the information of your event is detailed, you can publish it.
You can find your events in “All events”.
STEP 4: Integrate Your Event in Your Newsletter
Now you can integrate your event in your newsletter. Go to “Emails” and click on “Create”.
You can choose to create different types of email: classic, scheduled, automatic or follow-up. As we want to create an event, we can start with a scheduled email. Click on “Create”.
You can either decide to start from a template, or from scratch and click on “Create”.
You will enter the AcyMailing editor. To add an element to your newsletter, simply drag and drop the elements from the right-hand menu to insert them.
To add an event, drag the Modern Event Calendar integration (right menu) into your email. You can manage the display of your event. First, select your event. Here are some options that you can do on your event:
- Display the event information you want
- Change the display format of the event
- Change the image size
- Add options…
Once your newsletter is done, save it.
Fill in the information about your event:
- Campaign name
- Email subject
- Email preview line
You can then save your newsletter.
